A word on charisma from the world's leading expert on confidence

I'm currently working with an 'exec to be' and one of the top sporting organisations in the UK, and we're talking a lot about charisma, presence, credibility and gravitas.


In my early days as a consultant, I did a study of some of the world's most charismatic leaders.


I wanted to understand what gave them that aura that drew people's attention and compelled people to them.


They all had their own traits, but there was one thing that they all had in common.


It was something they did when they presented and communicated.*


It had NOTHING to do with their subject matter expertise or experience in the field.


Sometimes, your expertise can get in the way of your ability to inspire a broader audience.


In the case of the client I mentioned at the beginning of this message, people in their organisation see them as THE go-to expert in their field.


Instead, they need to develop their ability to hold an audience, inspire broader groups, and build confidence in colleagues around the board table.


I am proud that my book sold more than 22000 copies worldwide, which leaves me perfectly placed to help them get their seat around the board table.
