14 Hours In Greece

Last week, I visited a prospective client in Greece.

I took two 3.5-hour flights for a two-hour meeting and was in the country for a little under 14 hours (I offset the carbon footprint).

Some might say that a journey like that isn't a good use of time or money. You can have a meeting like that via Teams, right?

I couldn't disagree more.

When we tell clients that we want to get under the skin of their business, we really mean it.

If we're creating a leadership development programme or working with an executive team, we will do all of the formal diagnostics, but we also want to meet people in person and feel the culture.

When a client invests in us, we invest in them too.

As it happens, I used the time on planes and in lounges to put the finishing touches to the design of my new project.*

2025 is approaching fast (as I write this, there are just 103 days left in this year). Who are the people in your business with whom you haven't spent enough face-to-face time?

Who in your team would feel invested in if you took them for lunch, dinner or even a coffee?

If you lead remote teams, who deserves to know you care enough to jump in the car, get on a train or even hop on a plane and go and see them?

It's a simple premise, but it is an important one and is too often overlooked,

Who are you going to see?

*(My new project is a tailored one-to-one development experience. If you want to know more about how you can work with me over the next 12 months to step up strategically, transform your executive confidence and gravitas, and build a leadership mindset that will ensure you're ready to take the next step in your career - email me to be one of the first to hear about 'The Confident Leader'.)
