Welcome to your Benenden Hospital Senior Leaders Development Programme

I am excited to work with you during your upcoming Benenden Hospital Senior Leaders Development Programme.

The purpose of this page is to give you a flavour of what to expect from the experience and how to prepare to get the most from it.

Please watch this video to get more of a feel for the workshop.

The learning outcomes

By applying your learning and insights from the experience, you will:

  • Create a personal development plan based on being and exemplar of the values, behaviours, and skills of the Benenden Hospital Senior Leader role profile.

  • Demonstrate the capabilities of making values-based decisions in line with Benenden Hospital’s core values of Be Caring, Be Connected, Be Brave and Be Smart.

  • Identify how to understand and align their team profiles to best deliver their strategic programme outcomes and provide inclusive leadership through the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Establish a collaborative and collective management process of planning and delivering their strategic programme outcomes.

A small amount of pre-work

One of our learning outcomes for day 1 is for you to gain an insight into your own emotional intelligence and identifying where your strengths and opportunities lie against the ‘standard’ of the Benenden Hospital Senior Leader role profile.

I will be sending you a link to the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (TEIQue) on a separate email. This questionnaire typically takes around 35 minutes to complete, on average. However, please complete this questionnaire at a pace that best suits you and at a time and place where you will not be disturbed. Do not think too much about each question, there are no right or wrong answers. Your first instinct is usually the most accurate.

Please complete the TEIQue questionnaire by Friday 28th July in order to allow us enough time to print off the reports ready for use on Tuesday 1st August. All the reports are confidential and will only be shared with you on an individual basis.

I would also recommend that you spend some time before the 1st August to consider your own personal learning outcomes and expectations from the programme. It may be helpful to discuss these with your own manager to gain an insight to thier expectations of you.

The logistics

Venue: Quinlan, Training Room 1

Dates: Day 1 - 1st August 2023 & Day 2 - 2nd August 2023 (day 3 will be held on the 5th September)

Timing: Each day will start at 09:00 and finish no later than 16:30.

What to bring and what to wear: Please wear whatever you are comfortable learning in. Most people choose to dress casually. We will provide materials to reference and make notes in, so you just need something to write with and an open mind.
